Police prepare for oath ceremony, PM visit likely
PANCHKULA: Working on the speculations of the Prime Minister's visit to the city later this week, Panchkula police have started preparing for the oath ceremony of the yet-to-be-decided Haryana chief minister, which might be held at Tao Devi Lal Stadium in Sector 3.
As the ceremony could also be organized at the governor house, police officials made visit to both the venues to scrutinize the security arrangements on Monday.

The police are in no mood to leave any stone unturned because this would be the first time that the chief minister's oath ceremony would be held in the city. Even though the police are not sure about the visit, a senior police officer said that the orders are expected anytime on Tuesday.
"We have not received anything in written, yet we are making arrangements as it would be a sudden call. We are analyzing the possibility of holding the ceremony both in the stadium as well as at the governor house," stated a senior police officer.
Another possibility, he added, is of the venue shifting to the chief minister's constituency. Nevertheless, they are leaving nothing to chance.
According to sources in the BJP, there is good chance of PM visiting the city as he is close to the new Panchkula MLA Gian Chand Gupta, as he was serving the party here during his tenure as Chandigarh mayor.
